A short story
The CEO of My Own Journey
A Journey of Survival
As a young, uninformed girl, I was too young to know better, but I quickly learned about abuse. I was a 'me too' woman before the movement even had a name, enduring sexual and physical abuse from people who professed to care. Confused and with little guidance, I ran headlong into love and found myself a baby with a baby. Raising a child as a young girl is nothing to play with. I quickly realized that to protect us, I had to get an education and a job. I refused to let us stay static, even though that's where we began.
My life became a testament to what it means to keep moving forward, emphasizing the importance of mental health. I cried all the way, from past mistakes that led to date rape to being trapped in a physically abusive relationship. But I came to a powerful realization: You don't have to stay and live in any current situation. You have to fight like Ali to move yourself forward, and you may have to seek outside help, including support from a women's community, to keep yourself safe.
Becoming the CEO of My Life
The saying 'you do better when you know better' is true, but anyone who says it's easy isn't telling you the truth. It's especially hard when you're surrounded by traps that can easily pull you down. We see the daily deaths and despair caused by things that could be avoided. It was during this time that I decided to become the CEO of my own life. Win or lose, it was in my hands and God's.
I believe that if I can rise above it all, so can you. Your past doesn't define your future.
The CEO of My Own Journey
I've been a CEO for my entire career—not of a single company, but of my own journey. My commitment to excellence and innovation began early, reflected in the fact that my first publication was accepted into the Library of Congress back in 1984.
This same passion for building and creating fueled a distinguished career in corporate America spanning over 30 years. I navigated the ranks from a customer service agent to an instructor and trainer, ultimately leading and managing teams of 200 to 300 people. I learned to lead with integrity, make tough decisions, and consistently excel, becoming a top regional salesperson for multiple corporations for over 20 years.
My drive to create something from nothing also led me to become an inventor, earning a U.S. government-granted patent for a sports doll. As an entrepreneur, I founded my own LLC publishing company, a venture that has put my work on Amazon.com/Kindle/ and Audible.
Today, as a licensed professional in Life and Health Insurance, I bring that same blend of proven expertise and passion to every client. My mission is to use the wisdom gained from a lifetime of helping others and promoting self-care. The site is named Caresharewellness due to the intention of not only helping ourselves but each individual thriving for better, no matter what your better looks like to you.
namaste...peace unto you.
